"Protesters Disrupt AK Misra Memorial Wrestling Championship Inauguration Over Alleged Selection Irregularities"
Once again, P.T. Usha was unable to attend a sports event she had been invited to, as wrestlers staged a protest during the inaugural ceremony. The protest took place at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Lucknow, where the opening of the 15th AK Misra Memorial Wrestling Championship was taking place.
The wrestlers were protesting against the alleged irregularities in the selection process for the championship. They claimed that deserving candidates were ignored in favor of less qualified individuals. The protesters demanded that the selection process be reviewed and the deserving candidates be given the opportunity to compete.
Unfortunately, P.T. Usha, who had been invited as the chief guest for the event, was unable to attend due to the ongoing protest. The former athlete and coach has been invited to several sports events in the past, but has had to miss many of them due to various reasons.
The championship, which was organized by the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association, saw participation from over 500 wrestlers from across the country. The protesters, however, continued their demonstration throughout the day, demanding justice and transparency in the selection process.
